Governing Body

Introduction by the Chair

Welcome to the Featherby Junior School Governors’ page.

As school governors we have the responsibility of raising school standards. We are all passionate about ensuring the school is successful and our aim is to ensure that every child is given the best education possible.

We believe that this can be achieved through increasing children’s knowledge, improving their skills and helping to develop their personal attitudes and values. The governors work extremely closely with the school and regularly monitor and challenge the work of the leadership team to ensure that every child’s learning and life experiences are enriched and enhanced.

Our three key areas of responsibility are:

  • setting a strategic direction
  • ensuring accountability
  • acting as a critical friend to the school and its management

There are four categories of governor at our school:

  • Community Governors
  • Local Authority Governors
  • Parent Governors
  • Staff Governors

Our aim is to ensure that all our children become confident, secure and caring individuals who achieve personal success and develop a love of learning.  Thank you for taking the time to find out more about our Governing Body
